I am thrilled to serve as the Governor of the U.S. Army Chapter of »Æ¹ÏµÎµÎapp. It is an honor and a privilege to represent your voices and to advance the interests of the Army Internal Medicine through collaboration, innovation and commitment to our mission to provide safe and competent care to our patients.
»Æ¹ÏµÎµÎapp is our professional home and the largest medical specialty organization with over 160,000 members worldwide. ACP unites internal medicine specialists and subspecialists by a commitment to excellence and is a leader in education, standard-setting and sharing of knowledge to advance science and practice of medicine. The College’s mission is to enhance the quality and effectiveness of healthcare by fostering excellence and professionalism in the practice of medicine. ACP’s strategic priorities are:
- Address the changing dynamics of the IM workforce by strengthening role and influence of internal medicine physicians in delivery of high-quality care, medical education training and influence of workforce pipelines
- Enhance ACP’s continuous professional learning resources to expand delivery of innovative approaches for continuous professional development
- To increase member engagement across the profession to meet the needs of IM physicians
- Advance chapter alignment and sustainability by strengthening chapter member engagement, sustainability and alignment
The Board of Governors is an advisory board to the Board of Regents which is the College’s policy-making body. I represent the membership of the Army Chapter of ACP and I am committed to collectively creating a space for all of your voices to be heard, for your inventiveness, forward-looking attitude to be recognized and highlighted. I liaise between you and the national ACP as a member of the ACP Board of Governors and your Army Chapter governor. Pursuit of excellence, investment in professional and personal development, commitment to collaboration and collective success of our profession, leadership and genuine care for each other and our patients connect us all and give us purpose and a sense of belonging. As a family of Army internal medicine physicians , we optimize member engagement, we learn from each other and lean on each other, we recruit into our profession by role-modeling and by fostering our military internal medicine identity. Our membership is a beautiful mosaic of outstanding transformational leaders, impactful and inspiring educators, master clinicians, effective healthcare administrators, mentors, sponsors, coaches, colleagues and friends. I am honored to serve with each one of you and I am enthusiastic to represent you in this role.
