Health Information Technology

Background

The ways in which technology is employed in health care is increasing and evolving. Health information technology has the potential, if used in an advantageous way, to improve the quality of care, increase efficiency, and prevent medical errors.

Where We Stand

The »Æ¹ÏµÎµÎapp believes that health information technology (IT) should support and enhance high-value patient care, and improve the patient-physician relationship. Health IT must be useful and not add to the burden of care delivery, but instead help to reduce administrative burdens of practice. We support policies that aim to leverage health IT to improve shared clinical decision-making at the point of care, and to effectively and securely share practical and useful information with colleagues, and patients.
