ACP offers members numerous quality improvement (QI) resources, including the ACP QI curriculum, training, coaching, and tools to improve patient care.
A step-wise approach that guides you through each stage of the QI journey from establishing the “what” and “why” for change to implementing and sustaining change. This online curriculum, developed by physicians for physicians and their teams, is offered as a series of four modules. Physicians who complete this curriculum are eligible for up to 4 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM and ABIM MOC points. Physicians are also eligible to earn patient safety credit.
This training video series, "Best Practices in Engaging and Empowering Clinical Teams in Continuous Improvement," provides a step-by-step guidance based on ACP’s Quality Improvement approach, to help participants throughout their journey. Exclusive to ACP Members.

ACP's annual quality improvement (QI) leadership training program provides meaningful QI implementation support based on principles of clinician engagement, patient and family partnership, team-based care, promotion of health equity, and promotion of clinician well-being. Participants will receive step-by-step guidance, based on the ACP QI approach, to help them through their QI journey, including how to establish the what and why for change, identify how to measure change, plan for change and identify solutions, and implement and sustain change.
Gain valuable exposure and recognition for your quality improvement work. Medical Students, Resident/Fellows, and Early Career Physicians who are ACP members are eligible to participate in the National Abstract Competitions, which includes a Quality Improvement-Patient Safety Category.
ACP has developed this toolkit to share best practices and real-life examples of successful team-based clinical care models that include internal medicine physicians working with Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physicians Assistants (PAs) and other members of the clinical care team. This toolkit includes resources to help foster productive and purposeful internal medicine teams.
