Medical Student Perspectives
How Are You Feeling About This?
When I returned home from my first semester as a nutrition counselor for my university's student-run free clinic, my mother was diagnosed with prediabetes. I still remember her reaction when she received this news. She was anxious, her eyes were watery, and she was nervous about telling me.
ACP IMpact's Medical Student Perspective series presents essays by medical students about their medical school experience. See possible topic ideas and how you can submit your essay for consideration at ACP Online.
New Papers From ACP
In a new paper, " ACP offers recommendations for policymakers and physicians to improve the care and social needs of unhoused people. ACP says that physicians and other health professionals should be knowledgeable about screening patients for homelessness and treating unhoused patients, and that this should be incorporated into all levels of medical education. ACP's Chair, Board of Regents, Dr. Eileen Barrett, discusses the paper's recommendations aimed at both preventing homelessness and promoting health care for patients who are unhoused.
