The Role of Technology in Treating Justice-Impacted Patients
Growing up, I immersed myself in computer science because I knew I wanted to spend my life solving problems. However, a few quarters into college and a couple of software engineering internships later, I realized that I was much more passionate about working with and alongside the very people that my products were meant to help.
Medical Student Perspective
See Me
However, before I made it out of my car, my legs suddenly went numb and a profound dizziness overcame me. Overwhelmed by a wave of fear, my first thoughts were, “Oh my God! This is what a stroke feels like. I'm having a stroke. Wait no—I'm too young to have a stroke. But stranger things have happened! Oh, God!”

Advocacy Update
Beyond Pure Medicine: Reflecting on Leadership Day and the ACP Health Care Policy Internship

Analyzing the Challenges Homelessness Poses to Discharge Planning and the Continuity of Psychiatric Care
The care management and discharge planning of psychiatric patients experiencing homelessness (PPEH) is an area of debate. Due to the lack of research on best practices and community resources available, there are currently insufficient actionable guidelines in place to properly assist PPEH in their care post-discharge, leading to high rates of readmission.

IMIG Event Inspiration
Intro to Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
The internal medicine interest group at Carle Illinois College of Medicine held an “Into to ICU” event to simulate medical situations that students may encounter in the ICU. With the help of senior internal medicine residents and critical care physicians, the event included mini lectures and practicing techniques related to physical exams and assessment of ICU patients. Students also rehearsed central line insertion, chest tube placement, intubation, and ventilator management.
