Clinical guidelines recommend the use of statins for primary prevention of cardiovascular disease. However, there is uncertainty about the benefit of statin therapy in people older than 75 years, in part because of the underrepresentation of this age group in published statin trials. The aim of this study was to evaluate the long-term effectiveness and safety of statins for primary prevention of cardiovascular disease in adults older than 75 years.

Investigating the Role of CXCR3+ Monocytes on CAR-T Cell Function

This study seeks to uncover the possible interactions between CXCR3 and CAR-Ts that may alter CAR-T function and ultimately lead to better CAR-T expansion. We hypothesize that CXCR3+ monocytes induce functional change in CAR-Ts resulting in improved expansion.

Volunteers Wanted! Become a Mobile App Community Lead on the ACP Connect Mobile App.

ACP is seeking ACP Mobile App Community Leads to engage members in specific mobile app communities. Volunteers create starter posts, reply to messages, guide conversations, and point community members to ACP information and resources.

The Healthy Democracy Campaign is a national voter registration drive led by students in medical schools and health care professional degree programs. Participating schools are provided with free civic engagement materials, and then compete to reach the most eligible voters. Vot-ER and the ƹϵεapp partner on voter engagement and GOTV efforts, and the ACP has named voting participation as a path to better health outcomes.

The internal medicine interest group at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland hosted a “What Is Internal Medicine?” talk featuring Dr. Keith Armitage, the internal medicine residency program director at the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. The one-hour presentation introduced first- and second-year medical students to the field of internal medicine, its subspecialties, and diverse professional career paths.
